This scheme provides proficiency testing (PT) samples to laboratories that examine food products or waters for hepatitis A virus and norovirus GI and GII using the reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). This PT challenges laboratories in detection and quantification (copies per sample) of both these viruses.
